Grandma's Lap is an organization whose mission it is to serve those affected by kidney disease, through distribution of homemade lap blankets and financial support, as well as to help in locating educational opportunities.
We strive to bring comfort to those suffering and support to those providing care or assistance to those with kidney disease.

OUR MISSION
We will work in conjunction with other agencies to help find resources within the community for those affected by kidney disease or in terminal care situations.
We will do this while remaining true to the nature of the person who was Shelva Mansberry.
OUR INSPIRATION
Shelva Mansberry was our mother, grandmother and friend. She loved people fiercely and battled her disease courageously. She lived a challenging life with grace, determination, humility, and an innate joy that we have never seen matched. She had a strong faith in God, and would probably be overwhelmed by what she would have called "this fuss" over her, but we at Grandma's Lap want to help comfort others who understand her suffering in honor of the way she always had the ability--and the will--to comfort us.
